Seven years ago, Jennifer Kerr was making cute signs to put in her booth at a Powell antique mall.
Antiques are no longer a major part of the picture. Jennifer was so good at sign making that it blossomed into a full-time business.
“It’s funny how things work out sometimes,” Jennifer said. “I made the signs for my antique booth, and pretty soon people were coming by asking me to make custom signs for them. Now, that’s the bulk of my business.”
Jennifer is the owner of Tiny House Vintage and Art, 53 N. Sandusky St., in Delaware. She makes custom signs that are crafted on a laser cutter. Customer can design their own signs and Jennifer and her assistant Tom Pohlman bring them to life.
Jennifer operated out of her home for four years before moving her current location three years ago. Along with signs, she sells home décor at Tiny House.
Her newest business, Hot House Prints, is a printing business that spawned from her custom sign making. Jennifer found that many customers were seeking custom photo prints on signs.
Jennifer recently purchased a high-end UV printer to meet that end. She can now print custom photo images on glass, metal, wood and acrylic. She can make individual prints, signs or Christmas ornaments on the machine, or combine the images with her custom signs.

“We’re very excited about the new machine and the new business,” Jennifer said. “This gives us the capability to create an entirely new line of products. Printing on glass and wood opens a lot of avenues for us. And, we can use the technology for the custom sign business. As far as I know, we’re the only ones in Delaware County with a high-end UV printer.
The printer can print an image as big as 16.5×24.
