MAY 2016 – Gardens (and MORE) Galore
Finally! It’s time to get out and beatify your yard, and this time of year it’s usually not too difficult to find a great nursery. But HERE in Delaware County, you can find some really unique garden centers with fun offerings other than flowers and shrubs.
At Foertmeyer & Sons Garden Center you can shop for premium flowering plants that are all grown right in their greenhouses. Set up private studio time and bring in a party for any celebration, just ask them about their Potentials Programs. They also offer fundraising programs!
A Proper Garden is on Rt. 315 just north of Powell. Here, among the greenery, you can enjoy an amazing and artisanal seasonal meal. Try the Spring Salad with pan-seared artichokes, fiddlehead ferns, brussels sprouts, roasted carrots, and wheat berry. YUM!
The Delaware County Community Market not only has fresh produce, locally made crafts, and awesome deli and baked goods (I happen to be a huge fan of their soups), but you can also shop a lovely array of annuals and perennials. What is better than when 20% of your purchase goes toward the charity of your choice?
