December 11th at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. join the

December 11th at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. join the @cenohiosymphony for the annual Holiday Concerts of the 44th season. These identical concerts will be held in Gray Chapel auditorium on the Ohio Wesleyan campus.

The concert will feature soprano Angel Tyler of Delaware as one of two guest artists. Tyler will be singing a selection from Handel’s Messiah, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and other pieces, as well as leading a sing-along with the audience.

The second guest artist is Brian McCoy of Dublin, who will perform on Irish Uilleann pipes in the world premiere of Westerville composer Ken McCaw’s “Highland Holiday.”

There will be new selections this year, including “Cradle in Bethlehem” and a Ukrainian carol, as well as selections from “The Nutcracker,” works by Leroy Anderson, and “The Polar Express.” As is the custom of Conductor Morales-Matos, the concert will end with "Radetzky March” by Johann Strauss.

Season tickets or tickets for this concert only may be purchased at the Symphony Source, 24 E. Winter Street in downtown Delaware or online at www.centralohiosymphony.org, or at the box office the night of the concert. Any youth 17 and under can present their library card and get free admission to the concert, as well as a half-price ticket for an accompanying adult.

From what started as a dream turned into reality for Anne Vagasky. Today we celebrate shopping local and supporting small businesses on 🛍 Small Business Saturday.

Vagasky was working in the cooperate world along side her father as she was encouraged by a friend to start her own thing and go for it. She always had a dream of opening a local shop and soon she found herself looking for properties to make that dream come true. She fell in love with Powell and the community.

Vagasky has been part of the Delaware County community for over 15 years with her children in Olentangy schools, she knew this was a location that was close to home in many ways. I asked Vagasky what her favorite part of the Powell community was and she answered undoubtedly that they care about the local businesses. Shopping local retailers and eating at local restaurants is what drives the City of Powell. Vagasky continues to work with the community and other local businesses inside of Powell and Delaware County but also outside with other local shops. She recently helped hosted a Sip & Shop in Powell and often puts together Moms & Mimosas at her store.

If you haven’t been to @peachtreestreethome, they just opened a new location earlier this year that houses their home decor. Anne found herself over growing her first location, A Lifestyle Boutique when the property across the street became available. This was the perfect sign to expand the business. Vagasky has always hoped that she would come this far and is only more hopeful for the future. Peachtree is hoping to expand again in Powell and possibly into more parts of Delaware County.

Peachtree Street is filled with so many goodies, whether you are shopping for yourself or picking out a gift, you are bound to discover the ideal item that fits exactly what you are looking for.
